About Keri's Cookies

Every cookie starts from scratch — real butter, quality ingredients, and a whole lot of patience.

Hi, I'm Keri

The baker behind the cookies

What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. When I discovered the art of royal iced sugar cookies I was hooked — the detail, the creativity, the way a beautiful cookie can make someone's whole day.

Every order I take is personal. I work closely with each customer to design something that feels special, whether it's matching a party theme, recreating a beloved character, or just making something pink and pretty.

All of my cookies are baked from scratch in small batches and decorated by hand — no shortcuts, no assembly line. I'm based in South Lyon, MI and serve the Metro Detroit and Oakland County area. Local pickup only — no shipping at this time.

Ingredient FAQ

Common questions about ingredients and allergens.

No — the sugar cookies contain all-purpose flour and are not gluten-free. They are also made in a kitchen that processes gluten. If you need gluten-free cookies, please reach out to discuss options.
No — the cookies are nut-free. The recipe uses vanilla extract, not almond extract.
No — the cookies are made with real butter and are not dairy-free. The kitchen also uses dairy in other products.
Yes — both the cookie dough and the royal icing contain egg or meringue powder (which is dried egg white). These cookies are not suitable for people with egg allergies.
Keri uses professional-grade gel food colorings, which are concentrated and FDA-approved for use in food. They are used in very small quantities to achieve vivid colors without altering the flavor or texture of the icing.
For the best taste and texture, enjoy cookies within 3 days of pickup. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Do not refrigerate, as this accelerates dryness; a cool, dry spot is best. Cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container. To thaw, remove them from the freezer at least 12 hours before you need them and leave them at room temperature — do not open the container until they are completely thawed, as condensation can damage the design.
Minor substitutions (like omitting almond extract) are usually possible — just mention it in your order. Significant changes to the recipe aren't something Keri currently offers, but feel free to reach out if you have a specific need.
